How Telegram Channel Ads Work: Bids, Clicks and Targeting Explained

Everything about click-based ads in Telegram channels: how bids decide who is posted first, what you can include in an ad, how clicks are counted and how to get better results.

A Telegram channel ad is a post that appears in a channel and carries a short message with buttons. On Adloop, you pay per click, so you are charged when a real subscriber taps your button, not just because the post was seen. This guide explains the whole flow from creating an ad to reading results.

What a channel ad contains

  • Text up to 1,000 characters, with formatting such as bold and links.
  • An optional image (PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 512 KB).
  • One to three inline buttons, each with its own colour.
  • A "📢 Ad" label, so readers always know it is sponsored.

Keep the text short and specific. Readers scroll quickly, so the first line must tell them why they should care. Use buttons for the action, such as opening a website, a bot or a channel.

How bids decide who is posted

You set a bid per click. There is a minimum bid, shown in the product (currently on the home page) and no upper limit. When several advertisers want the same channel, the ad with the highest bid is posted first. A channel receives at most one ad per day, and each ad is automatically deleted after 2 hours. Because the supply of posts is limited, a higher bid gives you better odds of being chosen.

Targeting your audience

You can target by channel category and language so that your ad appears where readers are likely to care. Categories are Crypto and Earn, Games and Entertainment, Shopping and Deals, Lifestyle, News, Blog and Education, and Other. A language-matched channel will almost always outperform a mismatched one.

Which clicks are charged

Only real subscriber clicks are billed. Adloop does not charge for clicks from the channel owner or admins, from the advertiser, from non-subscribers or from repeats by the same person. A second account used from the same device is also not charged, and there are daily caps of 5 clicks per person and per network address. This protects your budget and keeps publishers honest.

Tip: write for the click, not for likes

Make the button text say what happens next, such as "Open the shop" or "Join the group". A clear next step produces taps from people who actually want it, and those are the clicks worth paying for.

Optional pay-per-join

If your goal is to grow your own channel, you can add an optional fee for each person who joins. The fee is held as pending. If the person leaves within 2 days it is refunded, and if they stay at least 2 days it becomes final. For this to work, the Adloop bot must be an admin of your channel.

How the money is shared

For each charged click, 50% goes to the channel owner and 50% to Adloop. Channel owners therefore earn from the readers they have built, and advertisers pay only for real taps.

Step-by-step: your first channel ad

  1. Create an Adloop account with one tap via Telegram and fund your balance.
  2. Write the text, add an image if you want and set up one to three buttons.
  3. Choose category and language targeting.
  4. Set your bid per click and submit the ad.
  5. After approval your ad is queued and posted when it is chosen for a channel.
  6. Check clicks in your dashboard and adjust the bid or text next time.

Common mistakes

  • Bidding the minimum and expecting to win every slot.
  • Writing long text that nobody reads.
  • Targeting a category that does not match the offer.
  • Not tagging the link, which leaves you blind after the click.

When Adloop is not the right choice

Channel ads reach only Telegram readers, and a channel receives a single ad per day for 2 hours, so there is no steady, always-on exposure. Adloop has no built-in conversion tracking, and results depend on the bids of other advertisers, so volume is not guaranteed.

Frequently asked questions

Do I pay if the post is seen but not clicked?

No. Channel ads are billed per click.

Can I choose a specific channel?

You choose targeting by category and language. The system then places ads according to bids and the available channels.

Why was my ad not posted?

Common reasons are a low bid compared with others, targeting that is too narrow, or an ad that did not pass review.

How many buttons can I add?

From one to three, each with its own colour.
